Promotion Activities

The Basic Law for a Gender-Equal Society enacted in June 1999 which positioned the realization of a gender-equal society as "the most important issue of the 21st century", and sought to build social systems without gender bias. Nagoya University promptly initiated the promotion of gender equality, and determined the "Recommendations for promoting gender equality at Nagoya University" from 2001 to 2002, and has positioned the importance of gender equality to the University in "Basic stance on the operation of Nagoya University".
Additionally, Nagoya University established the "Office for Gender Equality" in January 2003, and established the "Gender Equality Promotion Special Committee" in April 2003 in order to achieve organizational completeness.
